(L) Marco Santaniello, self portrait, (R) Marco pictured left wearing his TSkirt
I totally love Imran Ahmed's 'Business of Fashion' website but this morning's mailout got my birthday off to an even cheerier start than normal thanks to these pop art renderings of fashion icons past and present by Milan-based Marco Santaniello. Sig. Santaniello was previously better known as the inventor of the TSkirt, as pictured above (see the wonderful http://www.terencesambowrites.blogspot.com/ for more pics), but these fun graphic designs, inspired by the Rubik's Cube, on primary stained glass style backgrounds, must be keeping him super busy now if this very sweet message on his website is anything to go by... UPDATE: Marco has very kindly confirmed that his designs will be available to buy soon - details to follow - but, for now, I hope these brighten up your day a bit too...
If you want a fashion+art fix now though, check out the Lazarides gallery and online store for some of the Liquidated Logos pieces by mischievous French street artist, Zevs. Zevs is always getting in trouble for his particular 'brand' of street grafitti, especially when it involves replacing one fashion titan's logo with that of a rival brand. See below for a pic of his 2009 Hong Kong misadventure involving the Armani store, a giant Chanel sticker and some 'irremovable' paint. He was later arrested...
